To whom it may concern:
Ignorance is bliss. At a time where our country, our faith in humanity, and the absolute responsibility of preserving history is called into question, I, Nathaniel Williams, television director and producer and musician, applaud those who seek to have the home and history of the Honorable John Coltrane preserved. I demand and request that his history is laminated for all generations hereafter to enjoy and learn. There is no better way to make this planet a better place than to honor his legacy.
Sincerely,
Nathaniel Williams Independent PBS Producer/Director Owner, ActionWeb Designs Multimedia Civil Rights Activist

Steve,
Keep on fighting we will get through this together. I am doing my best to get the word out. Steve, do you think it possible to make mass mailing to the Dix Hills community will a letter attached that they could sign and send to Town Hall letting our representatives know how we feel about this matter?

My name is Paul. I live in Manhattan. I want to encourage you to pursue saving John Coltrane's home, in any way you can. I could write you alengthy essay describing just how much Coltrane means to American culture, but I'm sure you're aware of all that. And I'm sure you realize that America's jazz heritage has long been treated with criminal disregard. I can offer assistance if you should end up looking to recruit jazz artists for a benefit concert.
This house needs to be saved and turned into a cornerstone of jazz culture in the New York City area. The time for this kind of respect is long overdue, and has already begun with the Louis Armstrong house in Corona. I hope you realize what a great opportunity Huntington has on its hands if this is handled with the properly.
Sincerely,
Paul T.

To whom it may concern,
I am writing to express my concern about John Coltrane's home in Long Island , which I believe should be honored properly and preserved as a museum. It would be a mistake many would regret in the future if they do not act thoughtfully now.
Sincerely, Roberta B.

John Coltrane, icon of American music, lived his last three years in Huntington, Long Island. A developer has purchased the land and house and plans to demolish it and sub-divide the property... In Europe they made a national monument of Mozart's home and there are many other creative geniuses holding these honors.. these homes are shrines and are visited by people who have been captivated by the legends who lived and created their art in their sheltering walls..thank God they have done so to Louis Armstrong's home in Queens... Coltrane stands tall among the musical Giants..Bach, Bird, Mozart, Miles, Beethoven, Bud.....please preserve his homestead and turn it into a museum honoring his unparalleled musical accomplishments.
Sincerely, Laura K Port Washington, New York

Dear Mr Fulgoni
The American and World -Wide Jazz Audiences would find it very commendable if you were to use the former home of our American Musical Hero John Coltrane and preserve it in his memory....The destruction of his homestead would be a tragedy and a waste of a golden opportunity for the construction of a museum where his legions of fans could visit and review his unmatched accomplishments in the musical arts....Louis Armstrong's home in Queens has just been added to the list of famous homes and has been preserved...In Europe they have done it with their musical Masters..so please heed the call...thanks for your understanding of what you hold in your hands....It is a treasure...

How about putting on a Jazz Concert fundraiser. I can get a lot of players to donate their time. Maybe you can get Channel 12 or NBC to cover it. It will give your efforts maximum publicity and perhaps you can find that benefactor. If you'd like to talk more about it give me a call.

Hello
I saw the article in NY times a few weeks ago and I was going to contact you. I play saxophones myself. Anyway there is a Jam session that has been going on for 20 years in Lloyds Harbour every week. Many top musicians from Manhattan come out to play and most of the top players from LI attend. I can always put together fund raising sessions to try and preserve the house.
Anything we can do to help let me know.

Hello:
I strongly urge the Town of Huntington to acquire the former home of John Coltrane. As an artist I routinely listen to John Coltrane for inspiration. I feel very strongly that this home belongs to the world and should not be sold to a private party. Coltrane has inluenced so many, is loved by so many, and any insights into his energy and life should be preserved.
