Dear M. Fulgoni,
It has come to my attention that you have recently purchased a piece of property in Huntington, Long Island. If you were not aware, this residence was the last home of the great jazz legend John Coltrane. In this structure Coltrane spent the last years of his life and wrote one of the most ethereal pieces of work the human race has known, A Love Supreme. This work ranks up there with some of the greatest pieces of American art and the memory of this artist and his art should be preserved.
As an urban planner and historic preservationist, I would encourage your to preserve the John Coltrane home for the sake of American history and culture. As you may also know, there are many economic and business incentives for historic preservation and I invite you to investigate those options.
I appreciate your willingness to hear others voices and look forward to see how you choose to use the property in the future. This future is our future.
Yours truly,
Dan Carey University of Kansas
I made Mr. Carey aware the “I” don’t own the property. S.F.
